No doubt, is very pretty but I much rather stay here enjoying my year around weather of 79F-86F, hehe :o) I'll send you some heat from Brasil to get you warm! :o) Cynara :o)
I've always considered shovelling as cross training. You photo's look like the winter's we usually get, but this year we've had very little snow...crazy huh?
I grew up in a small town in South India. Sports was the only way for me to spread my wings and see a bit of the world - a world comprising neighboring towns and cities. My athletic prowess, unfortunately did not take me beyond the state level.
After graduating from college and moving away from home, running faded into the background, resuscitated by the occasional jog in the park and nudges by my father, a compulsive runner.
Then, I joined DH in the US. DH in his hey-day was a sprinter par excellence. But starchy foods and a sedentary lifestyle were equally appealing to him, and introduced to this way of life, I happily adapted.
Needless to say, my waistline quickly adapted too, which my brutally honest siblings never hesitated to point out. I started a run/walk routine 2-3 days a week. Coaxed by a colleague, I completed my first 5K race, which gave me what I recognized as a runners' high. For the first time in my life, I raced for the sheer pleasure of running. I was hooked!
Now, 3 1/2 years and several races (5K to marathon) later, I still enjoy running and the reason, I believe, is because I RUN FOR FUN.

beautiful pics. at least shoveling is a good workout?
Shoveling DEFINITELY counts as cardio!
The storm looks beautiful but I know that is not the popular opinion!
oh my! Say toasty up there! Hope you have a great weekend and Valentine's Day <3 <3
Shoveling is TOUGH. thankfully it rarely snows here. Just rain, no shoveling required for that...usually.

pretty in pictures, but I don't envy you on the shovelling! Have a great weekend :)
Nice pictures. At first I thought it was Santa's rocking chair, with the snow making such a pretty shape on it.
See you at NJ Marathon 2010.
Happy shoveling!
I am so tired of this snow! It was pretty the first couple of days, but now it's all brown/gray/ugly. Yick.
I think even my kids are sick of the snow, amazingly.

I haven't driven my car in over 2 weeks. It's still stuck in the driveway. I drive whichever car is closest to the street.
