On the Saturday morning group run, I discovered that while 9-minute miles on the 'mill aggravates my tendonitis, 9 minute-miles on the road/trail only boosts my morale (hope it stays that way!).
I met another runner, Kim, who ran about the same pace as me; we also enjoyed each other's company and conversation; so what should have been a 7-mile run easily progressed to 9. Our pace was all over the place (Kim wore a Garmin GPS and kept calling out our pace every now and then...which seemed to increase every time she stared at it for a while), but we must have averaged 9-minute miles. The weather stayed balmy throughout the run. I love the prospect of having someone to run with, even if only once a week.
2 miles this morning brought me to my target of 28 miles. I haven't had much time for cross training and strength training this week. But, my kitchen floor got a much-needed scrubbing this weekend, which in my opinion, undoubtedly counts as a workout.

Dinner tonight was spicy mahi mahi (coat the fish with cayenne/paprika, turmeric, pepper and salt and bake it at 350 degrees in a baking pan layered with chopped garlic for 20 minutes), lettuce & tomato and boiled carrots & peas. The fish turned out a bit dry. I wouldn't call it delicious, but nutritious and edible.
Have a great week, folks!

sounds like a great run!
I love meeting to running friends. It's just something you don't understand unless you do it. :o)
Yay!
That sounds like something I could handle making!
Running buddie are the best!
Glad to hear the run went so well!
I always find that I run better outside with friends than on the treadmill. Good conversation and fun distractions seriously make all the difference.
hey! couldn't find an email addy for you, but if you are interested, I can send you some links that I found that explain the premise of the hr training pretty well. Trust me, if i can understand it, you will have no problem! LOL email me at mel.2ndchances [at] gmail [dot] com i'd be happy to send it out to you. :D
glad you had a good run with a new friend! they can really help break up the monotony which is oh-so-helpful especially on those longer runs.
dinner looks and sounds delicious!
Floor scrubbing DEFINITELY counts as some strength-building cross training!
Great job on the run! It's definitely nice having company now and then.
Great news on the running partner! It makes a huge difference having a buddy on a long run. It can tend to get monotonous alone sometimes.
I scrubbed my floor this weekend, too. That definitely counts as X-training!
I love running buddies! I agree about the treadmill and tendinitis. When I run on the treadmill, my foot starts acting up too, so I try to do that as little as possible. Have a wonderful week!
nice job on the run!!!! running buddies are so nice to have :)
the treadmill makes me hurt too... running outside makes me feel good :)
Hooray for a great run with company : )
I'm really liking this spicy mahi mahi idea ... I've got some mahi mahi I need to cook so I just might try this!! Thanks for sharing : )
