Recently, I reconnected with a friend who I went to college with. She discovered me through my blog and contacted me through an online social network.
Bee and I attended the same college for 6 months. We were right out of school, and it was the first time either of us had stayed away from home. Lost in a sea of strangers, we found things in common that brought us together. She sang beautifully, I was a wannabe singer. She was lots of fun to be around; and I was looking for fun. We hung out together and became close friends. It was an all-women's college and the hostel we stayed at had very strict rules. We blissfully broke the rules together and had tons of fun 'living on the edge'. When I decided to discontinue and join a different college 6 months later, we somehow completely lost touch.

Since then, I had heard through a mutual friend (I forget who it was) that she had married her college sweetheart (umm...not from the same college). But, not knowing her new last name, I was not able to track her down.
It was so good connecting again. She now has 3 men in her life...her hubby and 2 adorable sons. She sent me this pic of the 2 of us when we attended an off-campus workshop together...and it brought a smile to my face! I was transported to my giggly, giddy teenage years. Don't you just love old pics?
I am also pleased to report that my workouts are on target so far this week.
Monday: BodyWorks class at the gym - more emphasis on weights, less cardio
Tuesday: Ran 5 miles outside, in 35 degree temperature. I was still a little stiff and creaky (I want to blame it on the skiing), especially around the achilles.
Another BodyWorks class at night - more cardio, less weights
Wednesday: 4 mile run; slightly easier this time, under 10 minutes a mile (closer to 9:30, but I wasn't really checking).
30 minutes on Stationary bike - scheduled

It's great reconnecting with old friends. Good job on the workouts! I think it's definitely okay to be a little creaky from the skiing.
