Anyway, the scenery made me all poetic and happy to be alive, and I enjoyed my run much more than I normally would. Everyone seemed more cheerful...the chubby bus driver, the silver haired gentleman out on his morning walk, the crossing guards at our local middle school...or maybe they were just responding to the goofy smile I'm sure was plastered all over my face. The only exception was a grimacing runner running in the opposite direction, who gave me a look that seemed to say, "What're you grinning at, moron? This is supposed to be PAINFUL!"
I covered the distance in 2 loops, circling back home once to fuel up and to kiss DH goodbye as he left for work (yeah, yeah, we are mushy like that)! It was cloudy by the time I had finished my run, but I was still chirpy and smiling when I settled down to a long day of work.
Now, on to more mundane matters...
I seem to be on a tortilla fix. For 3 nights this week, it's been
either Chicken quesadilla (on whole wheat tortilla)...
...I tear up cheese slices instead of using grated cheese, in case you are wondering what those shapeless yellow blobs are. The end product turned out a bit overstuffed and overcooked, as you can see, but delicious all the same)...
or Grilled chicken wrap (with almost the same ingredients, except the cheese blobs and the lettuce).
We love it. And I think I have finally found a whole wheat product that DH will not turn his nose up at! Thanks for the inspiration, Lauren and Erica.

I don't even own a camera phone and my camera is too bulky too... it would have been nice to see a pic, but you described the scene very well. Sounds like a great run.
Mmmm, now I want a quesadilla!
What a great run. Those days are the best. It's like, how could you NOT run?
Quesadillas are my favorite, and your's look yum.
U seem to b a great cook too...the pics looked real yummy..I like your way of writing its very interesting to read..
I love those runs where everything just feels right and I feel so thankful to be a runner.
And I've been calling my 6-milers "long" lately...which makes me laugh, considering that 6-milers were my short runs just a few months ago. :) Ahhh, perspective.
