Man, it was heart breaking to watch Lolo Jones trip on the 9th hurdle in the Women's 100m hurdles final. Despite her overwhelming confidence, I had a feeling something was going to go horribly wrong. It was a Gail Devers episode all over again - except Gail had a 100m gold to compensate for her loss in the hurdles (small consolation, but at least the crushing loss was made slightly more bearable), whereas this was Lolo's only shot!
Usain Bolt...what a performance! The lightning bolt; an entertainer...on and off the track. Nothing more needs to be said!
Isn't Shawn Johnson the sweetest thing? She has such spirit and charm...and really nailed it on the balance beam.
And finally, Michael Phelps. On some level, every one in the world must have wanted him to win...if only to prove human beings are capable of anything they set their mind to. That must've taken so much confidence and concentration...to be able to win over and over and over, exactly as he was expected to!
